For a general summary of the position available
07.26.13 – Don’t drink and drive
Don’t Drink and Drive – Assign a DD and arrive home safely!
Driving involves multiple tasks, the demands of which change continually. To drive safely, you must be alert, make decisions based on ever-changing information present in the environment and be able to maneuver based on these decisions. Drinking alcohol impairs a wide range of skills necessary for carrying out these tasks.
Congratulations to Saleena O. on passing your PA State Driver’s License Exam and becoming a Licensed PA Driver!
07.24.13 – Pick the right car
Keeping teens safe on the road starts with ensuring they have the right car. While many teens inherit their parent’s vehicle as their first car – mainly due to simplicity and cost efficiency – parents should step back and thoughtfully consider their choice, keeping safety top of mind.
For example, SUVs and trucks behave differently on the road than coupes and sedans. A teen driver might lack the skills to cope with evasive maneuvers in a big truck. Parents should opt for something that sits close to the ground (to minimize rollover risk) and something that isn’t overly powerful.
Congratulations to Chip H., Jillian F., and Mike O. on passing your PA State Driver’s License Exam and becoming a Licensed PA Drivers!
07.22.13 – Rain = Slippery Roads
Slow down and drive carefully.
Rain can produce exceptionally slippery roads due to oil and other leaked fluids mixing with rainwater, so slow down and increase your stopping distance when it’s raining.
